Global Issues Project

In my junior year, I did a research project on the prison system in China and its relationship to the rate at which people reoffend. I initially was going to look at the relationship between a nation's approach to criminal justice, the culture's view of criminals, and the recidivism rate, but I ended up finding a lot about China. I wrote a paper summarizing my findings, discussing the stated intent of rehabilitation, and the extent to which that's achieved.
